Graduate Fellowship Description
The institute, Dalhousie University, requests applications from Masters Graduate students for the available position of:
Imaging and quantification of food quality attributes based on the recent advances of computer:vision technology.
The fields of interest for the fellowship will be Food Science and nutrition. Computer programming and imaging will be playing big role.
The effective graduate student will assess attributes of food quality and attributes of electronic pictures together with the subsequent relationship investigation of both. The successful applicant will also be working tightly with the investigation crew in personal computer and image programs.
The objective of the project and research is image resolution and quantification of food top quality characteristics based on the current advances pc-vision technologies.
Requirements of applicants are that they must have experience in food dewatering (drying), computer programming and/or imaging. Undergraduate with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or graduate degree in engineering or science is required. Knowledge of food science and technology, value-added food processing, fruit biochemistry and food analysis would be a strong asset.
Strong written and oral communication skills are important.
